Fish Soup

FYI: Normally, this soup is made with whole fish, including the head

4 lbs of fish
½ cup of carrots, chopped
½ cup of potato, cut into cubes
¼ cup of celery
1onion, copped
1teaspoon of oregano
1 lime juice
1 bell pepper, chopped
5 garlic cloves, chopped
1 bay leave
1/4 cup of Reisling wine
2 tomatoes cut in chunks
2 Maggi chicken bouillons
12 cups of water
A pinch of salt (If needed)
¼ teaspoon of black pepper
½ tablespoon of tomato paste


Season the fish with oregano, limejuice and a pinch of salt & pepper and marinate for at least 1/2 hour

In a pot, heat oil and sauté the garlic, onions and pepper for 1 or 2 minutes.

Add the paste and stir to blend.

Add the water, fish and the rest of the ingredients, except wine.

Cook on medium heat for 30 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Add the wine and cook 5 minutes

Serve with bread
