Red Beans Soup(see recipe for dry red beans)
Habichuelas Rojas Guisadas

Prep Time: 5-10 minutes
Servings: 3-5
Cooking Time: 25 minutes

2 cans of small red kidney beans (24oz) drained
2 cans of water (24 oz)
1 chicken bullion
A pinch of freshly ground pepper
1 tablespoon of tomato paste
1 teaspoon of white vinegar
4 tablespoons of olive oil
Salt (optional)

½ small onion
2 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon of oregano
2-3 twigs of cilantro
2 twigs of thyme or 1 teaspoon
1 aji gustoso


TIP: Mash 1 can of beans for extra texture
TIP: You can chop the herbs,  instead of blending them

Blend or chop the last 6 ingredients

In a pot, heat oil and saute chopped or blended herbs, black pepper, and tomato paste for 1-2.Then, add the and beans and saute for 1-2 minutes

Add water, vinegar and chicken buoillon and cook for 15-20 minutes on medium heat or until it reaches a medium consistency

Serve with white rice
